Childcare Training is coordinated by Deborah Price and has been in existence for five years.  We have training contracts with East Sussex and West Sussex and Brighton and Hove and are also approved by Skills Active and signed up to their code of conduct.

The courses that we currently run are:

• Taster sessions – for people who want to work in childcare or playwork and need more information.  For more information click here
• Diploma in Home based care (Cache) for childminders and home based childcarers.  We run all 5 modules of this.  For the handbook click here, and for the outline of the March 2011 course click here. This course is approved to run until the end of 2011 so this is your last chance to undertake an intensive delivery of a level 3 course.
• Equalities and diversity training
• APEL fast track Level 3 course in early years. There is one year left for this course to run until the end of 2011
• Assertion skills
• Working with other courses for practitioners and Early Years Professionals. For this extensive training programme please see the website of my colleague Dr Cathy Ota where there are more details - www.workingwithothers.org Have a look at the early years section as there are one day training events running across Sussex. This training is crucial if you wosh to increase your skills in helping children to work with each other and also to help team members to work with each other. It is essential training for any manager of an early years setting.
